Alaska

What a great trip!! Alaska was definitely a cold and rainy leave, but also very beautiful.  Here we are in front of a glacier in Glacier Bay.

This is a shot from Glacier Bay - you can see the little glacier peices that have fallen off floating around!

We did some amazing things on this trip, including a sea plan ride though the Misty Fjords of Ketchikan.

Here they are!

I also did a little research and found one of the few Starbucks that exist in Alaska - we took a taxi to get there by even my mom agreed it was worth it!

Another great shot at Glacier Bay!

I can't claim to have paid any really attention to my nutrition on this trip, but I CAN say I got in plenty of fitness.   I started every day with a workout in the ship gym (it was nice!) and then we even did a 6 mile kayak trip in Skagway!

So much fun!

I think my favorite part of the trip was the helicopter ride and Galcier walk in Juneau.  It was scarier than I expected to be in a helicopter but tons of fun to walk on the glacier!

I told you, I started every day with a workout!!

Here I am drinking glacier water that's who knows how old! So tasty and pure.

This gym was amazing but had no pull up bar, so I improvised... Looks funny but it does the trick.

We got to see some amazing waterfalls on our trip as well.

And of course an obligatory welcome to Alaska photo!

Next week I'll be back to routine - and back to proper nutrition! I miss eating well and more importantly how it make me feel.

Chicago!!

Whoops! Super late - I have been on they and forgot to post!

In all my tracked I am proud to say I've yet to miss a workout, food has been a challenge with balanced vegetarian options - and I've been having way too many processed breads, but still very happy this past week!

I started the week with a wedding in Chicago for a dear high school friend, but that gave me tons of laundry! So I hit up a Vancouver laundry mat before heading on a cruise to Alaska with my mom!

A fun part of this trip was that I am a tester for this AWESOME lotion for my eczema for the Dr. Oz show (more to come on that but let's just say it's totally helped my eczema!)

With all the travel came a lot of FaceTime with my little guy - I totally miss him regardless of how fun the trip is!

Chicago was more than just a wedding, a friend of mine from Norway flew in for the wedding as well and asked if they day of I'd like to run a race - I said why not!

It wouldn't be Chicago without a bean photo, and why not plank!

And here's a post workout relaxation session on the hotel roof!

The newlyweds - I couldn't be happier for them, it's been a long time coming for them to get the rights they deserve.

Moms gone wild!  Three moms, no kids - lots of laughs.

Look at those smiles!

Here's a few pre flight photos - we have weekly lunches with my grandmother who conveniently lives right by the airport!

Next blog will be of Alaska so stay tuned!!

Beast then Yoga!

Weekly Update: Still struggling on and off - but happy to say since getting back from vacation I completed the 3 day refresh and feel amazing as a result!! I've been struggling with some skin issues (a long term issue, since I was a kid) and moving forward have decided to cut out Peanuts for a little bit as they are an inflammatory food - more to come on that!

This photo here represents my current program: Body Beast which is all weights and heavy weights (my favorite), and my next program: 3 weeks of Yoga!   If you know me, you know I struggle big time with yoga, which is why I feel the need to commit 3 weeks. I can do ANYTHING for 3 weeks, and once I do it, I will see if I still dislike it.

One of the key reasons why I love being a coach is it pushes me outside my comfort zone.  A year ago, I did the dance program "Cize" that the company came out with - and I ended up loving it!    So here I am just having finished Country Dancing, currently doing heavy lifting and moving on to Yoga next!  If there's one thing I never am with this company and these programs, it's bored!

Here I am with my little mini-me during a weekend workout.  He loves our workout time and I even caught him proudly announcing to strangers that his mommy works out (no joke, he got into a plank and announced it at a museum - he had no idea I was in the room when he did it!)

Here are my 3 day Refresh results - still not where I want to be, but I am giving myself some of my own advice and going with the flow making each day better than the last!

One of my favorite foods from this week - cucumber dill salad (SO GOOD and so easy!).

Disney!!

Weekly Update: Ok so here it is - Disney!!!!  I have to first say, I continue to struggle with my nutrition and the scale showed it when I got home from vacation, but there are many things I'm proud of so I will be focusing on those!

First of all, I am proud of making some solid choices to start out each day of vacation - for me AND my son.

Here we are enjoying a breakfast before heading to the Magic Kingdom. My husband made a stop at the grocery store to get some key things (bananas, eggs, veggies, yogurt, veggie burgers, wraps, hummus, PB), and so we were able to eat leisurely, for much less money and with much healthier and satisfying choices!

So why were we in Disney?  To celebrate the life of my amazing little guy as well as our marriage.   Yep, both fall on the SAME day!!  My son turned 3 the same day as our 5 year anniversary.

And what a fun day it was!!!!   I have officially decided sub-3 is the best age to visit Disney - they are old enough to have a BLAST but young enough to still be free!

I even got to have some fun of my own one of the days he was at the hotel napping (my husband was on nap duty!).    Adults can have fun too!

I continued to stick to my morning routine - including reading one of my new favorite books "Miracle Morning" - it confirms a lot of why I feel so good when I get up early to workout - but also gave me some great insights on things I can add to my morning routine.  I have to say even just adding 10 minutes of reading each morning has been HUGE for my mindset.

And here I am in the gym!!!   Some mornings I was alone, some I had company - but generally I was the only one on the man weights - I consider that a win!

For any mom who's ever been to Disney with a toddler - we had a lot of faces like this - poor kid was exhausted but also so excited he would go between pouting and getting so excited and full of glee!

One of my favorite parts of my morning workouts is that I was able to not only stream my workouts, but actually DOWNLOAD them to my iPad in advance just in case service was dicey!

One of my favorite photos from the week!!

And another great one, waiting in line to meet Daisy Duck!

And heading home I go right back to my nutrition and started a  3 day cleanse using fruits, veggies, healthy fats and my beloved Shakeology!

Oh yeah, and frozen sauce (you get creative when you are coming home from vacation and have no food!)
